why do cats kill birds and then bring them into there home

Answer by Kate
Basically the answer is is instinct. Hunting is a natural cat instinct, so even if they do not need to kill birds etc for food they will still feel the urge to do so.
As for bringing them into the home. This is often seen as a gift to the owners as sort of thank you or to pay respects to you.

We can never be sure of course as our understanding of a cats behaviour is purely based on years of observation.

I have a web page here about cat hunting etc which you may find of further interest here is the pagehttps://www.our-happy-cat.com/cat-hunting.html

best wishes Kate
