You do not give me much information about your cat. Is he old or young?
If he is old then it could be illness brought on by his age. if he is young he may have a urinery infection. In either case you must take him to the vet as soon as possible, he sounds very unhappy and some treatment could help the situation.
cats are very clean animals and a cat with urinery problems will be very miserable and distressed about it, plus their could be some pain involved. A vet will be able to diagnose the problem and then you will at least know what you are dealing with rather than worrying.
best wishes Kate
