Cat issues

by Natalie Stageman

My cat is a 13 year old female long haired. Recently she seems to meow all the time and want feeding ALL the time. She seems to be licking herself alot aswell and has a few little scabs where i think she has chewed herself, although not sure. She had discoloured patches on her fur where she has been licking, she also seems to have lost weight and seems sensitive on her tummy and at the base of her tail on her back. She has recently had frontline, and dewormer drops. Hope you can help, as finding it difficult to get money together to go to the vet. Thank you

Natalie

hi
i'm sorry but i really do think you need to take your cat to the vets as soon as possible.

It sounds to me like she may either have a allergy

or a parasite problem

Her behavior suggests that she is in distress, meowing a lot and over grooming are signs of this. Also at her age it is definitely worth having her checked by a vet to make sure there are no other underlying illnesses which could be causing her weight loss and over eating, perhaps a thyroid issue

if this is the case it is very important that this is diagnosed sooner rather than later, I know my cat suffered with this.

i know vets can be expensive but unfortunately as our cats get older they will require more medical treatment.

I hope she is better soon

best wishes Kate
