Cat latching his mouth on my chin when nuzzling

I don't know how Exactly to describe it.

He's not biting, but it is open mouth latching onto my chin amidst nuzzling, purring & diving his head against me.

I'm confident it is not "Mean" thing, because I remember another cat use to do the same on toes, but a bit more gently, or maybe just softer skin on my chin. ha ha.

So I'm curious to know what it means???
He is still a bit young. several month old.

Answer from Kate
Hi
Sounds to me like normal cat scenting behavior
My cat does this too. As they rub up against you they are trying to get the scent glands at the side of their mouth to touch you and this can look like they are trying to bite.

best wishes Kate
