cat losing weight and has balancing issues

by Angel

My cat is about 9 years old and has all of a sudden started to lose a lot of weight, pull out her hair, pee on my bed and carpet, and it looks like maybe pulled her back claws out. What could be the problem? Should I be concerned? She always has been a heavier cat until recently. She also has been losing her balance on things like stairs and rag dolling down them.. Please help me I am very concerned.

Your cat could be suffering from several things and so it is important that she sees a vet and has some tests.

her behavior suggests she is anxious and this could be caused by the fact that she is not feeling well.

Loss of weight could be a sign of several different things from thyroid problems
cat-thyroid, heart issues or diabetes. However the tests will be able to confirm if it is any of these things or something else.

The sooner you go to the vets the better as the balancing issue sounds bad and may need to be looked into urgently.

Hope she is better soon

Urgent -Go to the Vet!!
by: Glenna

I wish that I had noticed these same symtoms in my cat, but his were a lot more subtle. It took quite some time, but he had all these symtoms and since I waited so long to get him to a vet, it was too late. He passed away last week. He had hyper-thyroidism, kidney failure and it finally went to his heart rsulting in heart failure. Your cat can be helped - take him to the vet asap! I wish I had - Good Luck!
