Cat Paw hurt

what could be wrong with my cats paw, its red and shes limping and when she sits she holds it up its her right paw , i think its a cut but i dont know.

It could be a sting or a cut or a foreign body stuck in it like a splinter.

thoroughly check it out and see if you can see anything in it. Bath it in some water and antiseptic if you can to try and clean it up. If it still looks red and swollen and is still causing the cat to limp tomorrow than I would take them to a vet in case they need a antibiotic or perhaps a more through exam in case there is something in it.
