Cat rubs the side of her mouth

by Joe
(Woodinville Wa)

My cat is constantly rubbing her face along her gum lines. She will rub against anything. She has no problem eating ao I have to presume she is not suffering from a tooth problem. I do notice that her incissors petrude from her mouth...not call the time but more often than not.

What do you think is going on
Should see be seen by a vet.
Thank you

Hi
A cat has glands at the side of their mouth which they use to rub their scent onto things, people anything in fact that they want to mark as theirs. it is normal behavior and is nothing to worry about.

If you think it is excessive then you could mention it to the vet the next time you see him but as long as she is eating ok i don't think it is anything to worry about.

best wishes Kate
