Cat Tail twitching

We have a 3 year old calico who doesn't like to be petted - she will sleep on the bed with us and will rub on us but she don't want to be touched. She's okay (sometimes) with her head being scratched, but when we pet her around her left shoulder blade, her tail starts to shake uncontrollably, and she runs and hides. I don't know what it could be - the vet says she's okay, but I'm worried...

umm sounds to me like she may have a skin problem which could be caused by an allergy.

You could try changing her food to see if the brand she is on is causing her problems, also make sure she is flea free and that their are no plants or chemicals in the house or garden which she may be accessing.

Or course it may simply be that she is not used to having her body touched and this is a purely behavioral reaction but it is strange that she allows you to touch her head.

If it were me I would change her food perhaps buy something to spray on her coat to calm any possibly skin problems and see how she went if it continued i would take her back to the vets for some more follow up tests.

see this page for more about skin issues
