cat territory

by Rachael

Recently i had a housemate move in with his pet 2year old male cat. My cat female who ive had for 7 years has lost a few battles with him and now practically lives in the unit block 2 houses down and only comes in when i bring her in to feed. How can we get the male cat to not dominate her and make my cat to be less intimidated. Any ideas??

The only thing i can suggest is that you take the cats through the introdcution stage again (see my page about introducing cats to each other under training)Especially the part where you keep one cat in a carrier while the other cat can roam around outside it. Perhaps if you put the male in the carrier so that your female cat can become more confident around him.
