Cat weak in hind legs and balding

Well my cat is about 5 years old... She is having trouble walking... Her back legs seem to be weak and they just give out on her. She also has (on each side of her tummy) missing patches of hair that come and go.. and when the hair goes, they look bloody and like open wounds. I have taken her to the vet for this. They told me that there is nothing wrong with her and that it may just be an allergic reaction. They gave me a list of possible allergies, and i went through the list and found nothing to that extent. I just feel bad for her. She doesnt act like shes suffering or in a lot of pain though... She does throw up a lot as well and not hairballs. Shes been on the same food for years now. Have you ever heard of anything like this? Or something i can do to help her? Thank you

Hi
my advice is to take her to another vets as soon as possible. the weakness in the legs definately needs to be looked into, she may be losing mucle due toa thyroid issue or there may be a spinal injury. As for the hair loss and the vomiting if there isa thyroid problem then the vomiting may be due to this. i'm not sure if the hairloss is related apart from the fact that she may be in some distress due an illness and is lossing fur because of this anxiety.

i really would recommend taking her to another vets as soon as possible.

I have apage about cat thyroid problem which you may find of further interest here
