my cat had 3 kittens a month ago and they all died after 4 weeks due to anaemia the fleas took all their red blood cells and no oxygen could pass through their body, i cried all dy and i felt guilty that i didn't take the fleas off i didn't know that we had to do it, but now that their dead i showed my cat their dead bodies it licked and sniffed them and had watery eys and blinked slowly, soon after we buried them. but the next day my cat looks evey where for them still, under the wardrobes beds everywhere absolutly. I don't want it to think we gave the kittens away I want it to undrstand they died. But how?

Simple answer is unfortunately you can't. it was good that she got to see their bodies, this will have helped her understand.

your cat needs time and lots of attention from you. It is normal for cats to grieve and it is natural and normal and should be allowed, this is how they will come to terms with it.

please read my web page about cat grief for more information here

Sorry for your loss, unfortunately fleas can kill kittens. It wasn't your fault that you did not know, the thing is you do now so if there is next time you will be prepared. Always make sure you use the right flea drop on protection for the age of your kittens.

best wishes kate
