Cats change in behavior

by Becky
(Powell, OH)

Our cat has had a change in behavior the last week or so and seems unexplained. She is about 3 years old and is not spayed. She's an indoor cat so is never outside. SHe usually has a mild demenor and is friendly. Lately she refuses to let you pick her up as her eyes get huge and she'll claw you if you don't put her down (unusual behavior for her) She's more aggressive overall. She still plays and will come lay with you on the couch but if she's picked up or touched she seems to get angry. Could she be sick or what could explain this behavior change??? She's still eating and drinking and nothing else seems off just her behavior has drastically changed.

Answer from Kate
Hi well it is quite possible that she may be in some sort of pain. I say this as often cats will act aggressively when they are in pain.

I think if i were you i would want to have her checked out by a vet to make sure that there is nothing wrong.

I hope she is better soon and back to her old self

best wishes kate
