Hi
Well it's sad to hear of yet another declawed cat. however there is no reason why the two cats cannot get along with each other even if it is only to the point of tolerance.

cats are not natural pack animals and so you will find that in some cases they will just put up with each other, in other cases they may take to each other completely. It really is down to the individual cat personalities.

However to give their relationship the best chance it is best to introduce them to each other slowly and in a controlled safe way. this will help to build their confidence in each other.

i have written a page about this here
https://www.our-happy-cat.com/introducing-cats.html

eve if they have already met it is a good idea to go through this process for a week or so.

Wishing you and your new cat family every happiness
