Concerned about my kittens

by Kristen

I recently got two kittens they are brother and sister and about 3 months old. I have not taken them to get shots have appointments for both. They other day Fluery the boy cat was shaking his head and i noticed he must have mites in his ears, i cleaned out as best i could until I get them to the vet. The sister cat Gracie has been hissing and growling at Fluery not letting him come anywhere near her. I am concerned...does Gracie sense that he is sick? They usually play together nonstop.

Thank you for your time

yes it sounds like your male cat does have something wrong and this can be sensed by the other cat and this frightens her. cats will often react aggressively when they are fearful and is probably why your female cat is behaving this way.

once you have them to the vest and treated etc, things should settle down again after a while.

best wishes kate
