Concerned about my pregnant cat

Hi, I have a pregnant persian cat. She is a year old.

She became pregnant not long ago and in August this year gave birth to 3 kittens, two were still born and the other did not survive the night. I was on holiday at the time and wanted to have her done when i got back but she became pregnant again!

I have found a skin like mucus thing on the floor today. The only way i could describe it is, it is like a piece of bacon!! The fat part! It has a mucus like substance inside it and is squishy.

Should i be worried or is it the time she may give birth? About 4 hours have past since i spotted the ''thing''. My cat is not behaving strangely....

HELP! x

Hi well i have heard of this before and it may have something to do with her water breaking etc , so yes she may be going into labour. In fact by the time you have received this reply she may have started.

Do you know how long she has been pregnant for/ the gestation periods i normally around 63 days or so.

By the way your vet will be able to spay your cat after the kittens are weaned at around 7 - 8 weeks (12 weeks in the UK).

If you think it is too early for her to be going into labour then I would check with your vets in case she has some complication, especially as she had still borns before.

i do hope all is well

best wishes kate
