i have a female cat( 3 years old, fixed) and a un nutered male about 1 year old. Recently she started to pee on the bed. And only on her side of the bed. At night i have started to put them in the basement where the food, water,,and litter are so i can get some sleep with out sleeping inn pee. I know it is her because after i let themn out in the morning,i went in my room to get dressed and she was doing it. I just want to know why and how to stop it. She only does it on my bed. Not on anyother furniture. PLEASE HELP ME AND MY LITTLE GIRL.

I would say that she is reacting to your males new smells ie he is now at breeding age and will be giving off a much stronger scent. Tis is probably distressing her as she may feel threatened by this dominant male smlee. Her urinating in her favourate areas is her way of making them smell even more of her and this will make her feel more secure.

Having the male can neutered will certainly help the situation in the long run but in the short term you will have to keep her out of the bedroom as she will probably continue the behavior as long as she feels upset by the situation.

You will need to amke sure that no traces of her urine smell remains on the bed otherwise this will also encourage her to reuse this area. Please see my pages about urine smells etc here https://www.our-happy-cat.com/cat-urine-cleaner.html

best wishes Kate
