Elderly cat acting weird

My 16-year old deaf cat is suddenly acting weird. She is urinating in places other than her litter box, but I have found her sleeping in her litter box. What's up with this weird behavior and what can I do about it?

Hi well this may have something to do with her disability. She may now also be losing her sight and this may be causing her some distress and so causing her urination etc.

Or it may simply be age related in general. Sometimes they can become disorientated and this can cause their behavior to change. I have a web page here about older cats which you may find of further help and interest.

A trip to the vets may be a good idea at this time, especially due to her age. there may be some other underlying condition which is causing her some distress and so the behaviors.

best wishes Kate
