Friend's cat is missing fur in patches on his back.

My friends cat is missing fur in patches on his back and there seems to be a clear fluid on the skin where the fur is missing. He doesn't seem like he's uncomfortable but he is licking and cleaning the area quite often. It showed up a couple days ago and it looked like it was healing as it was scabbing over, and it was never red or inflamed. Today we noticed that he was missing more fur, and seeping clear fluid again. We hope it's nothing serious and that you can help us find a solution and hopefully save her an expensive vet bill. Thank you.

Sorry to say that there really is no alternative then to take your cat to the vets for the condition to be properly diagnosed.

Any fur loss can be caused by several different things and it is impossible to know how to treat without knowing what you are dealing with. I.e parasites, an allergy etc.
