I have a 2 year old male who about a 2 months ago started losing his hair on his belly and hind legs mostly..the vet put him on what i believe is prednisone daily..i gave that to him for about 2 or 3 weeks and never noticed a difference in his hair although the vet said we should after 2 weeks. now he seems weakened and you can tell he is sick. He lays in bed all day and today he finally did get up and eat and drink something. he doesnt want to be picked up anymore and he is having weakness in his back legs. any suggestions?

Yes my suggestion is to take him back to the vets (or find another vets) and ask for further investigation into the problem. he may need some tests.

Losing of fur can be caused by several things and really does need to be looked into. I have a web page which goes into some other possible causes here
