Gizmo my cat

Hello: my kitty Gizmo (13 this year)and I have been together since she was about 6 months old.

A couple of months ago she started to go to sleep in the living room or somewhere else besides with me. Sometimes (not too frequently) she wakes up in the middle of the night screaming. I come to get her and then everything is fine.

Is this normal for an aging cat? Does she forget where she is or is she in pain? Don't know. Have you seen this before?

well yes it could be an age thing. Sometimes they can suffer from something like dementia and become forgetful or where they are etc.

However 13 isn't terrible old and so the other option could simply be a bad dream. i have seen my cat do the same, wake up suddenly chattering away or meowing strangely for a few minutes.
