Has my cat had a heart attack

by Andrea

My cat was quietly sitting up looking around (he had just woken up from another of his naps) when suddenly he began a very disturbing yowling. I then noticed he was panting and continued to pant and breath very fast for about 45 minutes. He was completely limp and seemed unable to get up. He lost control of his bladder at one point. He seems fine now and is laying on my couch and I even managed to get him to purr. Did he have a heart attack?

Hi
yes it does rather sound like either a heart attack or a stroke or some kind. It may have even been a fit the symptoms are similar.

i think your best option would be to get him to a vets as soon as possible in case he needs medication. The sooner he can see a vet the better his chances of recovering and not suffering another attack.

best wishes Kate
