How to introduce two cats togeather

I have a 7 year old female cat who has been with me for 4 years. 2 days ago I welcomed a very loving 3 year old male cat from New York into my home. He came from the aspca and the owner was told that other than a gate issue he was in very good health, he had lived at the aspca for 2 years, two weeks after getting him to his new home in Brooklyn he started having seizurs...the vet said he had seviere epilipsy and needed meds.

The young man that had addopted him fell in love with his new buddy and did all he could for him, I was called when he had to move and they did not allow pets at the new place... The young man booked himself and his buddy a flight and long story short the cat now lives in Michigan.

My problem is the 2 cats do not get along, although it has only been 2 days all they do is hiss and tangle if I allow them to come in contact with each other... Please help me help these 2 very lovable felines live happily ever after

The secret is all in the way you introduce the two cats togeather. It is very important that this is done slowly and under supervision otherwise they may never get on. See my page on this site about introducing cats to each other under the training heading.
best wishes
