Husband threatening to have animal control take my cat
by Jean
I have two cats. My cats are very skiddish, and my female is a one-person cat. She pretty much just hangs out on my lap. She does nip/bite if over excited after petting. This bothers my husband and I told him to just leave her alone then. She doesn't come around him and is afraid of him because he chases her around. Do I have any legal rights if he tries to have her removed from our home?

Oh my goodness I have never been asked this before and to be honest i do not have any legal knowledge to be able to answer you. I would have thought that a cat would come under the property rights and so yes I would have thought you would have some legal rights on your side.
I recommend contacting a legal advisor. I don;t know where you live but in the Uk there is a the Citizens Advice Bureau, perhaps there is something simialr to where you life, who can give you some free advice.
best wishes Kate
