i found a kitten

by Kelly
(pa)

about five weeks old and i brought her home with me, and i have another cat that's a little over a year and she seems to like her and kind of act like a motherly cat towards her then she pounces on her and kind of gets a tad aggressive with her. i don't know if it's her being motherly and trying to teach her cat things. should i be worried? thanks for all your help!

Hi

well yes it could be just games but it could also be a territory issue.

new cats should be introduced to each other slowly so that they can build up a relationship without fear of attack. there is a process outlines here

having said that a lot of cat play can look fairly aggressive but is not. So hopefully this is just play, you should notice no claws out and no aggressive sounds like hissing or growling etc.

I have lots of pages about how to look after a kitten. they need special food and care especially at such a young age, please see my pages for any further kitten care help
