is she dying?

hi my name is jacq

my cat sagwa is over 6 years old and she has always been playful but recently we got a baby kitten and she has not been herself. she will not clean herself, or eat and she splashes the water from her bowl all over the floor. she hides all the time under the couch. i dont know what to do we love sagwa and we want her to be ok.

what makes you think she is dying? This just sounds like she is a little fed up and may even be a little intimidated by the new kitten. It is very important that cats are introduced to each other slowly, this will help them both the get to know each other without feeling threatened. It may a good idea to try the introduction system described on this page https://www.our-happy-cat.com/introducing-cats.html also to give your cat lots of attention and plenty of things to play with.

If after all this you still think she is not herself and /or if other symptoms appear then take her to the vet for a check up just so that you can eliminate any medical condition.
