Hi,

Just wanted your advice. My wee girl tia has eaten some polystyrene and a couple of feathers? Im worried sick! thought the house was kitten proof! is this even possible? eating and pooping ok, although she has been a bit fussy with her food recently tends to eat her morning food no probs but eats her evening dinner during the night? is that cool? any advice welcome, cheers, steve

Hi well its not good but if it is only a few bits then they should pass through the system by themselves. It is important though that she does not do this regularly.

It may well be that she suffers from a condition known as Pica which is when they eat non food items. There is no cure for this it just means that you have to be more vigilant. See this page for more info on this

As for when she eats well that is entirely up to her. cats are naturally more active at night anyway so eating at that time is is fine. It is important though that you make sure she is eating her daily allowance of food for her age and food brand. This will not only fill her up but also ensure that she gets all the nutrition she needs.

best wishes Kate
