Kitten problem!

My cat has been coughing lately trying to get something up and im thinking, oh its just a hairball. So i go to sleep and wake up and see like 4 little spots on my sheets. The spots are dry and are brownish redish. and by some spots their are thin strains of hair. What is this? I just got my kitten two weeks ago so i dont know what a hairball looks like. Can you help me?

Sounds like an hair ball but if the kitten is having difficulty getting it up it might strain itself and cough up blood. That could be what the little brown spots are. A hairball looks like a clump of hair, not necessarily a ball, more like a suasage. If you are worried that the kitten is having difficulty take them to the vets asap just to be on the safe side.
