Kitty cries before throwing up

My cat doesn't throw up all that often. Once every several months. However, about a week ago I heard her wailing so I went to check on her and she was throwing up. It was very wet, not formed like it usually is when she threw up.

She was fine for well over a week so I stopped thinking about it, but it happened again today -- she wailed in advance, then was sick -- the same wet mess.

The food she is currently eating is cheap stuff -- I'm going to get some better stuff tomorrow. Is there any reason for the wailing, though, and should I take her to the vet?

It could be a hair ball, sometime our cat will throw up a goey mess and then several days later she will throw up a hairball. I don't know about the crying, that just may be something your cat does when they are feeling unwell, or it could be a throw back to when they are small kittens and they are calling for their mother cat.

Yes change the food to something of better quality and see how she is, if the throwing up continues thatn a trip to the vets might be agood idea.:)
