kitty with sticky fur

we adopted a 6 year old indoor cat and ever since we got her we noticed that her fur is sticky. we have to bath her all the time, which she hates and her fur gets matted really easily. I am feeding her Nutro Max Cat food. What do you think might be causing this?

Do you regularly brush the cats fur? this will help to reduce matting and will also help to condision the fur. I do not know of this brand of food so i can't comment on it, but mosty cat food should include all the necessary nutrients to keep your cat in top condition, it may be worth looking for another brand that specifically mentioned coat condition properties.
Long fur should be brushed several times a week to keep it in good condition. Bathing should not be done too often as it washes the natural oils from the fur which reduces the condition of the fur.

An underlying medical condition
by: Anonymous

You should have your cat checked out at the vets. Sticky fur can be a symptom of an underlying medical condition. Are there any other symptoms? Runny eyes, lethargy, weight loss or gain?
