Lilly

August 5, 2018

Thank you for your love and your companionship over the past 11+ years. You helped make our life happier and more complete. We will miss you.

I am saddened when I realize that I will no longer experience the little things that came to characterize Lilly. The ones that come to mind are:

• Coming to the bedroom in the morning to ask for breakfast
• Walking on the bed to urge us to get moving
• Her regular path from the bedroom thru the living room thru the dining room into the
kitchen
• The click of her claws on the dining room floor
• Her close attention as we prepared her breakfast
• Batting her sister in the head while waiting for food
• Her great appetite for food
• Her “almost contact” leg rubs
• Begging for a taste of my dinner, especially when we had chicken
• Laying on the rug or the window seat and enjoying the warm rays of the sun
• Enjoying warm days on the porch; enjoying the smells and the sounds of the outside
world
• Coming to my home office between 4:00 and 4:30 to ask for dinner
• Laying on the rug with us as we watched the evening new shows
• The regal way she looked laying at the at the corner of the Family Room rug
• Her sitting on the footstool to be with me
• Lying on the cool floor, fully stretched out, during warm weather
• Her sleeping on the living room sofa
• Her coming over to get treats once Jackie made the request
• Her sitting patiently waiting for treats
• Her stepping away to eat the treats and then coming back
• Her “hiding place” between the bed and the blanket chest
• Waiting for us on the bed in the evening
• Her flopping down to lean against me on the bed
• Her coming up to us say “goodnight” as we got ready to go to sleep
• Her loud, “snorty” purrs of contentment and happiness

Goodbye for now, sweet Lilly

She is only away for a little while
by: Kim from Texas

The only negative thing about having a pet is when you lose them.
There is a void that can never truly be filled.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss! May you always have the memories of Lilly so crisp and real, that she remains near you in spirit!
God has to have a special place in Heaven, reserved for animals that brought us great happiness!
Peace to you and your household!

by: Mary Vaughan

I am so very sorry to hear your news.
Its so heart breaking when you lose a precious pet who is like family.
It never feels the same when they are gone as they bring so much joy and affection.
Sending you so much love right now.

What a lovely post.

It's good to talk or write about your loss. Whne I lost my cat I wrote her a little note and placed it under a cat statue on her grave. Might sound silly but I think it helped me at the time, i was in pieces.

Thank you for posting and I'm sorry for your loss.

Kate
