liquid coming from my new cat

This is my first cat and I received her from a friend. I believe she was in heat when giving to me. I let her outside and she was more calm when she came back 2 days later. I noticed she a a small amount of drainage clear and slimy like substance leaking from her. Can you please tell me why she is leaking this and what it means

well she may have an infection. However cats in heat some times but rarely excrete a small amount of blood during heat although often it is very unnoticeable. This should clear up in a day or so, if not then it may be an infection in which case you should take her to your vets to be checked.

Can I strongly urge you to consider having your cat spayed sooner rather than later. it not only has the enormous benefit of preventing more kittens being born but also has health and behavior benefits to your female cat too.
