Litter Box Problems

Our two year old female cat has stopped using her litter box since we've brought in two kittens--a brother and sister-- 8 monts ago. What can we do to help her accept the kittens and to begin using her litter box again?

well as you know this sounds like behavior caused by her being upset about the arrival of the other cats and is a common reaction. All i can recommend at this stage is for you to read my pages about cat urination problems, litter training (under cat urine problems navigation) and introducibg cats to each other (under cat beahvior navigation button). This should give you some background information which will help your cat to settle down.

Making sure they all have separate litter trays and areas will be your first course of action and a period of separation may be required to settle your older cat down down again into a smaller environement and get her used to using a litter tray again, after that the cats can be reintroduced again slowly and in small bursts so as not to trigger the bad react again.
