Male or female Cat

We are searching for A kitten, what cats are generally more friendly and calm? Males or females thanks Marcus

Answer by Kate
it has nothing to do with male or female it is all down to individual cat personality and how they were treated etc from birth.

The first seven weeks of a cats life is known as the sensitive period and this is when a cat needs lots of social contact etc to make sure that they are used to and not afraid of people and or other animals.

I would suggest going to a animal rescue place to get yourself a cat/ kitten. Part of there job is to assess a cats personality and to match it up with new owners so that all will be happy.

I have always found my cats at these shelters and you just know when the right cat finds you. In the worse case scenario if it turns out that you choose a cat that doesn't feel right when you get home then the shelters will be happy to take them back. there is no point in mis matching animals to homes etc.

Best wishes and I hope you find your new friend soon.

best wishes Kate
