manx cat cries when I pick her up

My cat is a manx cat and she is sweet and sassy. But she can be purring fine until you pick her up and she cries a lot and sometimes she will start to cry when she is sitting in your lap if you pet towards her little stubb tail. It always worries me because I've heard that they can have spinal issues. Otherwise she is fine but she is quite moody, very sweet and will turn like the wind and want to hiss at you. I have never had one like her before but she has such character and loves to be with us humans a lot, I favor her a little I must admit. Any ideas, could she be in pain and need an ex-ray?

Hi yes i do think it is advisable to take her to the vet for further investigation. Her behavior does suggest that she could be in some discomfort. At the very least it will put your mind at rest and at best help your cat with any problems she may have.
