Meowing cat

(Tampa, FL)

Hello recently I found a stray cat he as meowing so loudly I thought it was stuck in the woods . his tail is jacked forward and he is very sweet & shy . I noticed it has 7 toes on the left front paw and 6 on the other.

I gave him food and water and he meowed the whole time he ate & and drank water.

I took him in that night because it was freezing outside.

He seems a little off when he walks and i was thinking he could be partially blind.

it has been 2 days since i let him spend the night and hes still meowing non stop like crazy.

It doesnt sound like a painful meow just a i miss my family meow.

Im a single mom so I could not take it to the vet for an exam and our local shelter will put him down.

would anyone have an explanation for this weird behavoir?

Please help hes cute and I would like to help him but this meowing is keeping me up all night.

Hi well cats use their cries to express all sorts of meanings. Unfortunately it would be impossible for anyone to say for sure why he crying so much. It may be that it is the mating call or he may be using it more if his eyesight is compromised.

It is a shame that you can't get him to see a vet as he may be suffering some illness due to his being a stray. It would also be good for you to know if he dies have any health problems which you may have to take into consideration if you keep him

Best wishes Kate
