mother cat moving kittens

my cat keeps lifting her 9 day old kittens from the bed is this normal she seems distressed

If a mother cat feels worried about where her kittens are it is not unusual for them to move them around to new places. It may be that the bed where she is feels unsafe to her for some reason. perhaps you could try moving it to a quieter area and see if she is happier there.
