moving cats

i have two stray cats that live in a shed on my property.ive been feeding them for a year and now have bought them a insulated cathouse with a warming mat for the cold winter.but i cant get them to live in the new cathouse and move out of the shed.how can i get them to move into the cathouse so i can have the shed back?

Sadly the only way would be to stop access to your shed so that the new cat house becomes the next best option. Cats are creatures of habit and so the shed is their home at the moment and so unless this is no longer the case ie no longer can gain access it is unlikely that they will move to the new cat house.

You could also try rubbing the new cat house with anything the cats have laid on in the shed to transfer their scent to the new house.

best wishes Kate
