moving litter tray

If my cat's litter tray is usually outside 1 room, and I'm going out somewhere and I want to keep my cat in 1 cat-proofed room, can I move the litter-tray inside the room and when I come back, I can put the litter-tray where it usually is.

When I am gone, and the cat needs to use the litter-tray, will the cat want to go outside the room and use the litter tray or poop in the room because it is used to 1 place where the litter-tray is kept?

Hi well the cat should use the litter tray if he is in one room with the tray. They will be attracted by the scent of the litter and it's texture.

However I wouldn't move the litter tray around to too many positions or times as cats are very much creatures of habit and they don't like change but if you have a routine of putting him one room when you go out and moving the tray then, he should ge used to this and use the tray as normal.

best wishes kate
