my 2 cats

i have 2 cats same litter mother died when they were born bert is 10 pds al is 16pds they are male tabby cats. bert constantly tries to hump al, al sits there for a while hissing and making a strange almost growl then finally fights with him. bert gets all sort of brused and cut up by al and and yet he continues. What should i do? recently bert has been biting me as well, not hard to break skin but annoying enough this is a new behavior. what should i do? Al is constantly licking me and when im laying he is always tring to get right in my face to sit and lick. is that normal? im a new cat owner it is by luck/chance that i happened upon them 16 months ago. im just still nervous and new to their behaviors. thank you for your time and help.

well tis sounds to me like the cats are not neutered. You did not say If they are not then this is the cause of the behavior and the best thing you can do is to have them both neutered soon. Please see this page for more information on this https://www.our-happy-cat.com/neuter.html

If they are neutered then this could simply be normal territorial behavior. even siblings will do this. Theres not much you can do but let them sort out who is head cat.
