My 2 month old kitten!

We have had our kitten for about 3 weeks and he will not get the concept of using the litter box all the time. we have him penned up in our large dog cage, in there he uses it with no problem but outside of the cage he feels the need to pee and poop everywhere. In the cage he has a bed, toys, food h2o, and even a litter box.My dads on his last straw so if you could help me figure out a solution that would be great. Thank you!

Hi
His food should not be in the pen with his litter box, he should be fed outside away from the pen.

Try setting up a routine with him. After feeding take him to the litter tray and place him in it. Use his paws to scrape away at the surface a little. Cats especially kittens want to eliminate after eating and if you set a routine for him he should eventually understand.

I don't know how large the pen is that you are keeping him in but cats and kittens needs lots of space to run around in etc and so it is not a good idea to keep him in a pen for too long.

See my pages about cat urination issues here for more information. There is also a special litter called cat attract which does what it says so this may be helpful too.
