Hi
At 5 months old your male cat will now be moving into adult hood and his behavior is that of a tom cat practicing mating. Tom cats will try to mate with any cat regardless if they are spayed or not.

i would really consider having your male cat neutered soon before any real aggressive behavior begins, it will also make him a more contented less frustrated cat.

best wishes Kate
