my cat and her vomitting problem

I have an 8 month old cat that was spayed a week ago. This morning she began throwing up, she has vomitted about 6-8 times from 6 am until 3 pm. I have noticed the sesame seed looking things around her butt, which I know is a sign of tapeworm. She has been drinking but she isn't eating and she is still really weak even though she hasn't vomitted in several hours. Could the tape worms be a cause of the sickness today? or possibly the surgery from last week? or is it probably something else? I have called her vet all day and he was supposed to call me back but he is just ignoring us! Could you please give me some info to help my baby!?!?

poor thing she does sound rather ill.

i wouldn't have thought that it had anything to do with the surgery itself but it is always possible that an infection has flared up and could be the cause. However tapeworm can also be very nasty too.

In either case you do need to get your cat to a vet as soon as you can. perhaps find another one on your area if you can't get a response from your normal one.

Try and get her to drink plenty of fresh water to prevent dehydration until you can get to the vets.

i do hope she is ok again soon

best wishes Kate
