my cat baby is limping

my cat baby got out of the house 4 days a go and came back last night and when he came back he was hopping and his left front leg is swollen and he wont walk on it. i have looked at it and cant see anything wrong with it. he lets me touch it and move it. so i dont think it is broke. but he has stayed by me since he got home i was just woundering what it could be. any answers would be helpful. thank you.

could be a bad twist or sprain. My cat recently had something similar. when we took him to the vets they did thorough examination and found that nothing was broken but the leg was very painful near the shoulder. they gave him pain medication and anti inflammatory drugs. which eased my cats pain for the first 24 hours after which time he seemed better on his leg. It still took about two weeks for the leg to fully heal though.
