My Cat Drinks All The Time

by Helen

my cat or rather kitten as she is 4 months old seems to be drinking rather a lot of milk and water her head is hardly out of the dish, is this normal as my mums kitten same age hardly drinks at all, im concerned in case she has something wrong withher as she is always thirsty. thanks

Answer by Kate
well this is a difficult one to answer as it could either be that she is a growing kitten and so needs to eat a lot to build her strength or she could have something wrong which is causing her to be very thirsty (diabetes, thyroid problems etc)

If I were you and to be on the safe Side I would definitely recommend that you have her checked by a vet. Kittens can be very susceptible to ill health during the first year of their lives and the sooner anything can be stamped out the better.

By the way..... wow what a absolutely gorgeous kitten. She reminds me a little of my cat Little mo with her colouring and markings. Watch out for those ears if they are covered in white or light coloured fur though. Easy to get sunburned and you don't want Waneta to end up with only one ear like Little Mo.

best wishes Kate
