My cat flinches around her kidney area

by Helena

I have a cat who is around 11 years of age, she has a certain part on her lower back/kidney area that when i touch her ears perk back and she goes rigid then meows in pain. Is there a problem with her kidneys? If so, what should i do? I really dont want her to have something severe that i am oblivious too, and i certainly dont want her to be suffering when there is something i could do.

Answer

Helena, your cat definitely sounds like she may be in some discomfort in that area. She may have an infection which needs antibiotics from the vet or perhaps even kidney stones. Either way the sooner you can take her to see the vet the better the outcome.

Try not to worry, bets are very good these days and cat care is very advanced too and in many cases medication can help.

Hope she is better soon
