My cat got violent

Hi,

I have a cat that's doesn't like attention from people and doesn't like it if I pet her. If I do she sctratches me, but she comes on my bed and pretty much follows me around the house when she's not sleeping.

Today I came home from work and she has been violent towards me, hissing and making her fur go up. I grabbed my water bottle that I used for my plants and I have to keep spraying her if I need to pass where she is. She's never done this before and I'm starting to wonder what happened to her is she sick and is this something that's gonna go away. She's not an outside cat. Always since I had her as a kitten has never gone out so she didn't catch anything. I only have her for an animal.

Any idea's what is going on? If this doesn't go away I can't live with an animal that seems like they want to kill me.

Thanks
Sandra

Hi
Without knowing more of your cats background it is difficult to say what is causing this.

You have not mentioned how long you have had this cat for. It sounds like this cat has not been socialized properly and this would explain her behavior.

Also sometimes strong scents can upset a cat to the point where they act aggressively. So perhaps you had changed your perfume that day or you may have been in contact with some other scent which your cat smelt when you came in.

You must remember that when a cat reacts like this it often not because they want to hurt you but because they are afraid of something.

Please see this page on my site for more information about this here
