my cat got attacked a few weeks ago by another cat and had a wound on his leg, it scabbed over but just recently he has taken the scab off and he now keeps licking it, it looks very sore and raw, is there anything i could do to help heal this, i dont want to go to the vet because last time they just shaved my cat and put a coller on

Hi
well unfortunately your cat does need to stop licking the wound so that it can heal and not become infected.

You can wipe the wound with antiseptic cream (a suitable for animals one) but you need to either be able to cover the wound or put a collar on the cat for a day or so. the vet can sell you a collar i believe.

Please see my page about cat first aid treatment for more information here
