my cat has back pain

by cheryl
(sarasota florida)

My cats back legs were shaking when she laid down took her to vet he gave her pain meds, said her back was hurting her. When i gave her the pill that night. a 1/4 of pill she started foaming at the mouth. Then rolled around all night and laid by her food bowl.

Her eyes were glossy. She hasn't eaten or drank any think since then, That i know of. I got her to drink some water today..
She is still playing and purring. please help. My vet just told me to give her the pain meds anymore.

i am a little confused. Does the vet know the cause of the pain? If he thinks she has a painful back what does he think is causing this?

from your question I am not clear if all he did was to give you pain meds because he thought it would ease by itself or is there a need for further investigation to determine the exact cause of the pain.

I am sorry but this question cannot be answered over the Internet. A physical examination of your cat is the only way to determine the cause of your cats pain.

If I were you i would telephone your vets and ask for a fuller explanation of his diagnosis you that you understand what is going on with your cat.

I hope she is feeling better soon
