My cat is acting weird

My cat is acting very weird lately and when I walk past him he meows and he always meows in the morning but in a friendly way not a mean way. He's 8. Why is he doing this?

well it sounds to me like he is trying to get your attention.

Cats soon learn that when they meow or make a sound they get a reaction from us. It could be that they want food, or a stroke or to be let out or to play games.

Cats have several different meow sounds which as far as we know mean different things. See my page about this here
