my cat is afraid to go out.

a few days ago my cat went missing for quiet a few hours, i kept calling her,but she did"nt respond, when she did return, she was very traumetised, and hid behind a bin in the garden,i managed to get her out and brought her in the house,i could"nt find any marks on her,but took her to the vet to get her checked, but he said she was ok,except for her ears, she had mites,so have got drops to put in them.i have tried letting her out but won"t go,yet she has always been an outdoor cat, never wanted to stay in,i don"t know what i should do.

It is not unusual for a cat to want to stay close to home when they are either not feeling well or are anxious due possibly to something they encountered whilst out.

My advice would be to get a litter tray temporally so that she can stay close to home for awhile.

The ear mites need time to clear up an also if there was something which frightened her then she needs time to relax and find her confidence again. Which will do in her own time. Dont force her or you may make matters worse.

best wishes kate
